One of the greatest and healthiest cuisines has evolved from the regions surrounding the Mediterranean Sea. Centuries of ideas and recipes have been brought together from Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The countries within these regions have their own unique recipes and ingredients.

 

The Mediterranean diet is essentially made up of complex carbohydrates and fiber coming from whole grains and legumes such as whole wheat berries, blended rice’s, couscous, and lentils. Added to this are mono-unsaturated fats, i.e. extra virgin olive oil, fresh fruits and vegetables, olives, garlic and herbs.
